Corr Outlines Budget Priorities Following Governor’s Address
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Michael Corr (R-Montgomery) today issued the following statement after listening to Gov. Tom Wolf’s annual budget address, where the governor proposed his spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year beginning July 1:
“The annual budget address is the opening offer in a negotiation between the governor and the Legislature. We will review his proposal and identify ways to make it better. If you printed out the governor’s budget proposal, it would be the size of a phone book, so there are a lot of details to be ironed out.
“My goal is to look for ways to streamline government, reduce waste and find efficiencies that will save taxpayers money.
“I plan to keep an open mind as we look for ways to reduce the cost of government for taxpayers. I’m willing to look at and consider proposals that will save taxpayer money. There may be areas where the Legislature and governor can find common ground, but it will greatly depend on the details of any specific proposal.”
