Kail Votes to Safely Reopen PA’s Businesses
HARRISBURG – Rep. Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington)issued the following statement after voting in favor of a measure that would eliminate Gov. Tom Wolf’s widespread COVID-19 business restrictions:
“For the last two and a half months, the governor decided how to handle the pandemic largely in a vacuum, without accepting input from the General Assembly. By handling the coronavirus response that way, he essentially silenced more than 13 million Pennsylvanians. The public servants they elected in the House and Senate were prevented from representing the public’s wishes as he issued decrees during his near-daily press conferences.
“Through his excessively restrictive orders, Wolf sidelined businesses all over the state. But he can’t do that forever. It’s time that Wolf listens to the families demanding to work so they can earn a paycheck to fund necessities.
“My colleagues and I passed the resolution as amended and look forward to its swift movement in the Senate Chamber.”
