HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives elected Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) as the 141st speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In response, Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) issued the following statement:

“By electing Rep. Cutler, the House has chosen an intelligent and insightful speaker. Through his leadership as head of the House Republican Caucus, Bryan has proven himself to be professional, perceptive and judicious. I have nothing but respect for him and the work he has accomplished as leader, especially these past few months. I know his outstanding work ethic will continue as he assumes his new role.

“I have known Bryan for a number of years, and have valued his guidance and mentorship, even before I ran for public office. I consider him a friend and believe he will direct the House on the right path while working across the aisle and ensuring all voices are heard. I look forward to the future as a representative and the important work that lies before us.”
