Warner Issues Statement on Veto Override Attempt
10/20/2020
HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) issued the following statement after a House vote to override the governor’s veto of House Bill 2513 failed to garner enough votes. The bill would have allowed the state’s restaurants, bars and clubs to expand their operations safely.

“I am deeply disappointed that another attempt to override a veto by the governor failed this evening due to members of his party changing their votes to comply with his wishes rather than the needs of our Commonwealth’s business owners and workers.

“Few industries have been hit harder by the pandemic than our restaurants, bars and clubs. These small businesses owners have jumped through hoops to meet the governor’s constantly changing orders about what they can and cannot do but the goal posts just keep moving. This bill would have empowered the business owners to expand their operations safely, following guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rather than the whims of our governor.”
