Legislative Reapportionment Commission Continues Fair, Open and Legal Redistricting Process, Benninghoff says
8/5/2021
HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), a member of the Legislative Reapportionment Commission, commented Thursday on the ongoing work of the commission following two days of hearings that heard from citizens, experts, and advocacy organizations interested in state level redistricting.

“I remain committed to a fair, open, and legal redistricting process and the last two days of hearings confirm that this process is the most transparent state redistricting effort in history. Having a diverse group of testifiers has been informative and helpful, particularly hearing the concerns of various regions and the need to reflect on communities of interest as the commission continues its work,” Benninghoff said.

“I applaud the work of the commission and Chairman Mark Nordenberg in beginning this process prior to having the needed data from the U.S. Census Bureau so that we can move expeditiously once that data is received.”
