Grove: House State Government Committee Reschedules Redistricting Hearings

HARRISBURG – With representatives called back to legislative session early, House State Government Committee Chairman Seth Grove (R-York) announced that three hearings on congressional redistricting that were to be held Sept. 20, 21 and 22 have been rescheduled for October.

The affected hearings will now be held on the following dates:

Monday, Oct. 18, from 1-5 p.m. at the Sidney and Pauline Friedman Jewish Community Center, Cohen Family Social Hall, at 613 S. J. Strauss Lane, Kingston.

Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 1-5 p.m. at the Spinnerstown Hotel, 2195 Spinnerstown Road, Spinnerstown.

Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Heritage Federal Credit Union Community Room, 2060 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia. 

Residents wanting to provide in-person testimony at a hearing should go to PaRedistricting.com to sign up by Oct. 13. The committee has also made available several other means for which residents can provide feedback. They can submit via the site written testimony that will be taken into consideration by the committee. Residents can also submit boundaries of their communities of interest and comment on the current congressional district map using online mapping tools on the site. 

The site is also a source for information about redrawing congressional districts. Video recordings and written testimony from previously held hearings are on the site. Users can also sign up to receive updates directly from the committee at PaRedistricting.com.
