Metzgar’s Bill to Dedicate Bridge to Fallen Hero Signed into Law
2/3/2022
HARRISBURG–Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset/Bedford) announced today that Gov. Tom Wolf signed into law his bill designating a bridge in Somerset County to honor a fallen United States Marine.

Act 6 of 2022, formerly House Bill 1304, renames a bridge that crosses over the Stonycreek Bridge into Hooversville as the PFC Howard Hahn Memorial Bridge.

Hahn was killed in action during the Korean War on March 19, 1953, while fighting the enemy.

“As a native of Hooversville, it is only fitting to designate a bridge in Hahn’s honor,” Metzgar said. “His ultimate sacrifice is felt throughout the community, and he deserves this bridge dedication to keep his memory alive.”

A dedication ceremony will be planned to commemorate PFC Hahn.

Questions on Act 6 or any legislative issue should be directed to Metzgar’s district office at 814-443-4230.
