Governor’s Budget Proposal Would Harm Pennsylvania, Helm Says
HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Wolf today proposed a $43.7 billion budget that would increase spending by $6.2 billion, or 16.6%, which is absurd and would put the Commonwealth on shaky financial footing in the years to come, according to Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon).
“I don’t understand how he thinks it is reasonable to spend an additional $17 million each day. Those are tax dollars he is talking about,” Helm said. “I’m thankful the budget address is over so that the real negotiations can begin.”
Helm pledged to join her fellow Republicans in the General Assembly to prevent the governor’s budget proposal from becoming reality.
