Mizgorski Reacts to Governor’s Budget Address
2/5/2019

HARRISBURG – Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny) said today that the governor’s budget address had a positive message, but more work still needs to be done.

“I thought the governor’s budget address had a positive message and I thought his emphasis on workforce development was significant and a goal that we all have in common,” said Mizgorski. “I do have concerns with some of his proposals, but I am eager and optimistic to work with my colleagues to build a consensus on a balanced budget.”

During his budget address, Gov. Tom Wolf spoke largely about his goals for the upcoming fiscal year and emphasized working with the General Assembly on issues and reforms such as job creation, workforce development and education funding. This year, he is proposing a $34.15 billion budget, with an increase of $927 million from last year’s proposal.

“With the upcoming budget hearings, I will have the opportunity to read the language and help ensure that we negotiate a balanced budget that will fund the necessary needs for our constituents and communities, such as education and infrastructure, while doing our best to protect and stand up for hard-working taxpayers,” added Mizgorski.
