Puskaric Named to Committee Leadership Position
HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Puskaric (R-Washington/Allegheny) today announced that he has been appointed by Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) to serve as chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing under the House Commerce Committee for the 2019-20 Legislative Session.
During the current session, Puskaric also serves as a member of the Education, Insurance, and Labor and Industry committees.
“As a freshman legislator, it is an honor to be named a subcommittee chairman, and I thank the speaker for making this appointment,” said Puskaric. “With my strong business approach and real estate background, I will be able to focus on a core mission of this committee – business, finance and economic development.”
The House Commerce Committee is responsible for originating legislation and overseeing implementation of programs which affect Pennsylvania companies. The committee has primary jurisdiction over corporate governance through the business corporation law, as well as regulates offers of sale and credit through such statutes as the Goods and Services Installment Sales Act, the Unfair Sales Act, and the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection acts.
The 39th Legislative District includes parts of Bethel Park in addition to Elizabeth, Elizabeth Township, Forward Township, Jefferson Hills, West Elizabeth, and parts of South Park Township in Allegheny County. Plus, Finleyville, Nottingham Township, Somerset Township and Union Township in Washington County.
