Puskaric Introduces Legislation to Streamline Permitting in Pennsylvania
Legislator’s proposal is part of ‘Energize PA’ bill package
HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Puskaric (R-Allegheny/Washington) joined some of his House colleagues at a Capitol news conference Monday to unveil the “Energize PA” bill package, which is designed to put more Pennsylvania residents to work without imposing new fees or taxes.
Puskaric is the prime sponsor of one of the eight bills included in the initiative. House Bill 1106 would provide a much-needed overhaul of the permitting process for all general and individual environmental permits, as well as general plan approvals.
“The goal of the legislation is to get more predictability within the permitting process and ensure more timely approvals,” said Puskaric. “Currently, businesses and corporations are faced with extreme wait times, causing uncertainty in projects. We want to remove barriers like these that are holding us back economically.”
Puskaric added that the Commonwealth is open for business and should be encouraging large corporations to make Pennsylvania their home.
