Gillespie Reacts to DePasquale Game Commission Audit
HARRISBURG – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today announced the findings of an audit of the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) that calls for stronger oversight and tighter control of the commission’s finances. The report comes at a time when the PGC is asking for the ability to set its own license fees, as opposed to having them determined by the General Assembly.
State Rep. Keith Gillespie, majority chairman of the House Game and Fisheries Committee, issued the following statement in reaction to the audit’s findings:
“The auditor general’s determinations show the PGC’s current accounting practices need to be changed.
“That being said, the report found no misappropriation of funds by the commission, which fully cooperated with the audit. They are being equally as cooperative in working with General DePasquale to put into place his recommendations for improved financial practices.”
Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Gillespie’s district office at 717-840-4711.
