Grove Invited to Speak at National Conference on Improving State Budgeting

WEST MANCHESTER ¬– Since taking office, Rep. Seth Grove (R-York County) has focused on innovative financial solutions to help bring financial sustainability, transparency and budget process reform to the Commonwealth. On Monday, Sept. 17, Grove will be part of a panel of five budget experts during a conference hosted by the Volcker Alliance, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Pew Charitable Trusts and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.

“It is a great honor to have been selected to join nationally known experts to discuss issues facing states as they work on their budgets,” Grove said. “As a state representative who has worked directly on Pennsylvania’s budgets, I bring a unique perspective to the panel. I look forward to a robust dialogue and to bringing fresh ideas back to Pennsylvania.”

The panel of experts will discuss best state budgeting practices and will examine areas in which improvements need to be made. Grove is the only currently elected official to address the conference in Chicago.

The Preventing the Next State Budget Crisis: Improving Budget Transparency to Bolster Fiscal Sustainability conference will examine ways state governments can to avert budget crises like those which occurred during and immediately after the Great Recession.
