HARRISBURG – Rep. Rob Mercuri (R-Allegheny) today took the oath of office to begin the 2021-22 Legislative Session in the state House of Representatives working for the 28th District.
With this ceremony, Mercuri begins his first term in office. The day’s proceedings also included the formal election of Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) as House speaker, as well as a vote on rules to govern the body for the next two years.
“With a grateful heart and a positive outlook for what we might accomplish together, I was honored to be sworn into Pennsylvania’s General Assembly. We have much work to do in the coming legislative session, and I look forward to working hard for the people of District 28 to help ensure we come back stronger from a difficult 2020 to forge a future for the citizens and families of Pennsylvania of which we can all be proud,” Mercuri said.
The House will return to voting session on Jan. 11. Mercuri has not yet been assigned to the committees on which he’ll serve, but will announce that information when it is available.
