WHAT: To address serious issues within Pennsylvania’s election system, the House State Government Committee will consider House Bill 1300, the Voting Rights Protection Act, at its next meeting. The legislation details comprehensive reforms to the election process to improve access to all voters, while increasing security to protect elections.

WHO: Chairman Seth Grove (R-Dover) will be joined by members of the committee. In addition to House Bill 1300, the committee will also consider the following bills:

House Bill 822: Would amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to allow voters to file a petition to remove a sitting governor, attorney general, mayor, or district attorney from office.

House Bill 1181: Would authorize the Department of General Services, with the approval of the Department of Corrections and the governor, to grant and convey certain lands and improvements in Pittsburgh.

House Bill 1452: Would provide for flexibility in emergency publication of the Pennsylvania Bulletin: in Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act, further providing for definitions; and, in codification and publication of documents, further providing for preliminary publication in Pennsylvania Bulletin.
