June 9, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. George Margetas (R-York) took the oath of office this morning to begin serving as the representative of the 196th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

“It is a true honor to have taken the oath of office today to begin serving as a state representative,” said Margetas. “I’ve dedicated much of the last decade and a half of my life to serving my community as a school board member and township supervisor, and now I get to continue my service in Harrisburg. I will stand up for our community and be a voice for commonsense solutions to the problems we face.”

Prior to his election as state representative, Margetas served as a West Manchester Township supervisor from 2023-26. He also served for 12 years on the West York School Board, from 2011-23.

The 196th District is made up of Paradise Township, Heidelberg Township, North Codorus Township, Jackson Township, Spring Grobe Borough, Seven Valleys Borough, New Salem Borough, West Manchester Township, Dover Township (partial) and Dover Borough.

Margetas’s office is located at 2501 Catherine Street, Suite 10, York, PA. His office can be reached by calling 717-767-3947.
