Corbin Takes Oath as Member of 197th Legislature
HARRISBURG – Rep. Becky Corbin (R-Chester) took the oath of office today, officially
beginning her first term as Pennsylvania state representative for the 155th Legislative

Corbin, of East Brandywine, is one of 36 women elected to serve in the 2013-14 legislative
session. She fills a seat vacated by Curt Schroder, who served nine terms.

As a legislative aide to Reps. Jim Gerlach and Schroder for 21 years, Corbin is intimately familiar with the important issues facing the citizens of the 155th Legislative District. She has handled the daily operations in the district office and routinely addressed constituent concerns. She said she is anxious to get down to business in her new role as legislator.

“Some people have said, ‘It’s January first. It’s New Year’s Day. It’s not a good
day for swearing-in,’ said Corbin. “I think it’s an incredible day for swearing-in, because it’s a
new beginning.

“Being one of a very few people in the Commonwealth to have this ability to make laws, to vote
on laws, to debate on the House floor... not a lot of people have that opportunity and I am just
thrilled to be here and to be able to do it,” said Corbin. “Today, we celebrated the official start
of the new two-year term. Now the real work begins, and we have an ambitious agenda. I look
forward with great anticipation to the hard work ahead.”

Corbin invites constituents to stop by her district office at 315 Gordon Drive in Exton between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or call (610) 524-5595 with any state-related questions or concerns.
