Phillips-Hill Among Panelists at Rural Broadband Access Discussion

WHAT: Access to high-speed broadband internet for all Pennsylvanians is a critical infrastructure issue. It impacts many aspects of society, from educating students to supporting the agriculture community and developing our economy.

State Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) will speak on her package of bills designed to expand the availability of high-speed broadband internet service in underserved and unserved areas of the Commonwealth, and examine previous legislation that was to ensure all areas of Pennsylvania would be provided with a modern broadband telecommunications network by 2015.

WHO: Joining Phillips-Hill on the panel will be representatives from the Public Utility Commission, Governor’s Rural Development Council and Pennsylvania Telephone Association.

WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 11, 9:30 a.m.

WHERE: Monongahela Room, Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg. Use the Maclay Street entrance and take the elevator to the second floor.
