Turzai Praises University of Pittsburgh for Freezing Tuition, Room and Board for In-State Students
7/16/2018
HARRISBURG – Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) released the following statement praising the University of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees for freezing tuition, along with costs for room and board, for Pennsylvania students for the 2018-19 school year:

“The University of Pittsburgh took a stand toward ensuring college remains affordable for Pennsylvania students by freezing its tuition and room and board rates for Pennsylvania students. When legislators voted to increase funding for the state-related schools, including Pitt, by 3 percent, the hope was that its governing board would freeze the rate for in-state students.

“Thank you to Chancellor Pat Gallagher and the Board of Trustees who sent a strong statement to students, families and the public by voting in favor of the tuition freeze.”
