Sonney to Co-Host Hearing with Senate on How to Reopen Schools Safely

WHAT: Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie), chairman of the House Education Committee, will hold a joint public hearing with the Senate Education Committee to hear from the administration on how to safely reopen schools this fall due to COVID-19.

WHO: Sonney; members of the House and Senate Education committees; Dr. Rachel Levine, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health; Pedro Rivera, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Education; and Matt Stem, deputy secretary of the
Office of Elementary and Secondary Education.

WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1-3 p.m.

WHERE: Senate Chamber. Due to space limitations, the public is not permitted to physically attend.
