Cox Votes for Budget Bill Headed to Governor’s Desk
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jim Cox (R-Berks/Lancaster) today issued the following statement after voting for a bill that would finish the state’s 2015-16 budget by providing supplemental money for state programs and services:
“This plan would finish the budget process and provide additional funding for our students and schools without requiring a broad-based tax increase.
“The bill would also provide important funding for agricultural programs that was cut by the governor in December.
“We hope the governor will work with us to support Pennsylvania students, farmers and others who benefit from these fundamental investments in the core functions of state government.
“The state budget situation has been drawn out by several gubernatorial vetoes. I hope the governor will begin working with us in a bipartisan manner by releasing these funds to help Pennsylvania residents.”
