Rothman Responds to Governor Wolf Budget Address
HARRISBURG- State Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) released the following statement regarding Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget address to the General Assembly this morning:
“Today, Governor Tom Wolf made a compelling argument that the Commonwealth is in a fiscal crisis. Contrary to the governor’s remarks however, we cannot tax our way out of this fiscal mess and we cannot tax our economy into prosperity. Every business owner knows that to fix your bottom line, you look at getting your expenditures under control. The state government must operate like any household; your expenditures cannot exceed your revenue. The General Assembly should carefully review the budget to identify waste, fraud or programs that can be eliminated.”
