Krieger Votes Against Latest Wolf Proposal for Record Tax Increases
10/7/2015
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Tim Krieger (R-Delmont) issued the following statement after the Pennsylvania House once again voted to reject Gov. Tom Wolf’s latest proposals for unprecedented tax hikes to fund excessive government spending:

“Today’s vote serves as another reality check for the governor, and should make it abundantly clear, that neither the people of Pennsylvania nor the majority of the Legislature will support a return to massive tax and spending increases.

“The ongoing state budget impasse remains and has always been about the governor’s unyielding demand to impose the largest Personal Income Tax increase in Pennsylvania history.

“Again, what is desperately lacking from the governor’s latest proposal is any consideration for the working men and women who bear the full burden of taxation in this Commonwealth — which now ranks the 10th highest in the nation. Who will speak for them, if not us? One fact stands without contradiction: The governor’s tax proposal would drastically increase the economic burden for middle-class taxpayers and job-creating employers.

“Hopefully, the governor will now recognize reality that he needs to get serious about negotiating a reasonable, fiscally responsible state budget that protects hard-working Pennsylvania taxpayers.”
