House ERE Committee to Consider Future Landfill Location and Operating Parameters
WHAT: PA House Environmental Resources and Energy (ERE) Committee Majority Chairman Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) will convene an informational meeting to receive input on the benefits or impacts of establishing population density or setback restrictions regarding where landfills can open and operate within the Commonwealth (House Bills
2338 and
2339).
WHO: The meeting will feature presentations from David Buzzel, Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association; Robert Livingston, Ph.D., Department of Geography, Geology and the Environment, Slippery Rock University; Dan McCown, president, Dan McCown and Co. Inc.; Michele Nestor, Keystone Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America; Grove City Mayor Randy Riddle; and John Stolz, Ph.D., director, Center for Environmental Research and Education, Duquesne University.
