Delozier Appointed to Advisory Committee on Probation
HARRISBURG –Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) was recently appointed to serve on the County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee (CAPPAC) by Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler.
“Being appointed by the Speaker to serve on CAPPAC is an honor that comes with fiscal responsibility to find smart ways to support our probation and parole system. The committee has many important functions including reviewing grant proposals and providing annual funding reports to the governor. I take this duty very seriously and am proud to be recognized for this role after years of advocacy for crime victims and criminal justice reform,” said Delozier.
The committee, which serves in an advisory capacity to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, is tasked with the following duties: reviewing and commenting on grant applications for county intermediate punishment and discretionary grants; developing a funding plan for county adult probation and parole departments; advising on matters pertaining to the administration of the county adult probation and parole system; analyzing data to identify trends to determine the effectiveness of programs; making recommendations and adopting standards for probation and parole personnel; providing annual reports to the governor and General Assembly on the use of funding and its distribution and more.
The next committee meeting will be held Nov. 3.
