House Children and Youth Committee Tours Area Children’s Home, Says Delozier
9/15/2022
HARRISBURG –The House Children and Youth Committee today toured Bethany Children’s Home in Berks County, according to the committee’s majority chair, state Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland).

“The tour of Bethany Children’s Home is something I have been looking forward to for quite some time. This opportunity gave the committee and me unique and important insight into youth residential homes for abused, neglected and trafficked children. What’s being done at Bethany for our children is nothing short of amazing, and it was an honor to meet some of the people who are doing that work. It was great to meet both staff and residents,” said Delozier.

Bethany Children’s Home is a residential facility where youth reside on campus in cottages with house parents, support staff and resident advisors. They have access to various therapeutic, spiritual and cultural services in addition to planned activities. Additionally, the home has been certified as a “specialized setting” for victims of human trafficking and for youth transitioning into adulthood. This specialized setting certification is a component of the federal Family First Prevention Services Act.
