Labs Legislation to Extend Social Security COLA Moratorium Passes House
HARRISBURG – Today, Rep. Shelby Labs (R-Bucks) announced that
House Bill 923 passed the House unanimously. House Bill 923 would extend the current Social Security COLA moratorium for PACE and PACENET until Dec. 31, 2027.
PACE and PACENET are Pennsylvania’s prescription drug assistance programs for seniors, which provide medications to more than 250,000 older Pennsylvanians.
“By extending the moratorium, 10,039 PACENET enrollees will keep their coverage.” Said Labs. “Additionally, 12,594 PACE enrollees will not move to PACENET, and will not risk losing their lower copayment and their PACE-paid Part D premium. With the current moratorium scheduled to expire on Dec. 31, 2025, I was proud to work with my colleague, Rep. Nikki Rivera (D-Lancaster), to ensure this moratorium is extended so those enrolled would not lose their access to low-cost medications.”
House Bill 923 now heads to the Senate for consideration.
