Rapp Takes Over as Majority Co-Chair of House Pro-Life Caucus, Retains Priority Committee Assignments
HARRISBURG — Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-Warren/Forest/McKean) has been appointed to serve as a majority co-chair of the bipartisan Pennsylvania House Pro-Life Caucus.
“As one of Pennsylvania’s most consistent and outspoken pro-life advocates, I am greatly honored with the responsibility of moving this bipartisan caucus forward during the next two years,” said Rapp. “For the past four years our Commonwealth has had the benefit of a pro-life governor, but as of this week with the inauguration of Governor Tom Wolf, this is no longer the case. In the immediate future, the mission of the Pro-Life Caucus, in both the House and the Senate, will be to stand united to preserve the major gains that have been made toward protecting the lives of the unborn in Pennsylvania and stopping any and all attempts to implement the taxpayer-funded practice of abortion on demand.”
In addition, Rapp will return to serve as a House Republican deputy whip and as a member of the House Education, Environmental Resources and Energy, Finance, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees. She has also been selected to serve as a deputy chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee, which takes a broader study of policy issues impacting the Commonwealth.
“As a sixth-term lawmaker, I am once again honored to serve on precisely those committees where I can make the biggest difference for the citizens I serve in Crawford, Forest and Warren counties in terms of a quality education, fiscal responsibility, limited regulation and job creation,” said Rapp.
The 65th Legislative District includes all of Warren County; a portion of Crawford County consisting of the city of Titusville, the boroughs of Centerville, Hydetown, and the townships of Athens, Bloomfield, Oil Creek, Rome, Sparta, Steuben and Troy; and a portion of Forest County consisting of the townships of Green, Harmony, Hickory, Howe, Kingsley, Tionesta and the borough of Tionesta.
