House Endorses Nesbit’s DNA Bills to Update State Law

HARRISBURG – Two pieces of legislation authored by Rep. Tedd Nesbit (R-Mercer/Butler) to update the state’s laws with respect to DNA collection and use in the criminal justice system have been forwarded to the state Senate after being approved by the state House on Wednesday.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) is praising the passage of Senate Bill 1090, which gained unanimous support today in the House of Representatives. Sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman (R-34), the bill intended to end hazing is now headed to the governor’s desk.

Barrar Introduces Bill to Address PTSI in First Responder Community

HARRISBURG – Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware) introduced a bill that would entitle first responders to benefits under the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Law for psychological injuries arising from their job demands, or after four years or more of service, even in cases when physical injuries are absent.
