Rigby to Honor Local Vietnam Era Veteran

WHAT: The portion of Syberton Road which crosses Clearfield Creek in Gallitzin Township, Cambria County, will be dedicated in honor of Private Martin J. Hanlon, a 1968 Penn Cambria High School graduate. Pvt. Hanlon was killed in action in 1970 during the Vietnam War when the truck on which he was serving as a gunner struck a landmine in the roadway in Quang Nam Province of South Vietnam. The renaming is taking place as the result of legislation authored by state Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) which became part of Senate Bill 621/Act 17 of 2023.
