Bonner: Jeremiah Sturgeon Chapel Nominated for Consideration to National Register of Historic Places

GROVE CITY- Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) released the following statement regarding George Junior Republic’s Jeremiah Sturgeon Chapel’s nomination for consideration to be named to the National Register of Historic Places. The Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office met on Feb. 4 and approved the nomination to place the chapel on to the National Register of Historic Places overseen by the National Park Service. The National Park Service then has 45 days to review the nomination.

Rapp Bill to Help Rural Health Recruitment Clears Committee

HARRISBURG — Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest), Republican chair of the House Health Committee, announced her bill to provide financial incentives to recruit rural health care providers has unanimously passed the House Health Committee. House Bill 157, the reintroduction of House Bill 2382 from last session, would create the Rural Health Care Grant Program, which would allow specified facilities, including rural hospitals, to help certain providers in paying off their student loans.
