HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) and Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Bradford/Lycoming/Sullivan/Tioga/Union) today announced $1,223,150 in state funding has been awarded to two water and sewer upgrade projects in Montgomery Borough, Lycoming County The awards were considered at today’s Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) meeting and approved through the Authority’s Local Share Account (LSA) statewide program.

General Assembly Approves Kauffman Bill Creating ‘DUI Following Diversion’ Offense

HARRISBURG – Legislation authored by state Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin), and approved by the General Assembly, would establish a new “DUI Following Diversion” offense for individuals who drive under the influence within 10 years of completing an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) for a DUI (driving under the influence) offense. House Bill 1615 now goes to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.

Three bills - the Protect Women’s Sports Act (House Bill 158), the Save Women’s Sport’s Act (Senate Bill 9) and the Dads Defending Daughters Act (House Bill 1849) - have now been referred out of the House Education Committee (additionally, Senate Bill 9 was earlier referred to the House Health Committee) and pushed into the Judiciary Committee without advance communication, but rather under the guise of “new business.”
