Veterans Trust Fund Grant Program Open for Applications

The state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is now accepting applications for 2019-20 Veterans’ Trust Fund (VTF) grants. Up to $800,000 in VTF grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations, veteran service organizations and county directors of veteran affairs across the state.

Heffley’s Bill to Bring Transparency to Prescription Pricing Advances to Senate

HARRISBURG – Legislation to bring much-needed transparency to the pricing practices of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) was passed unanimously by the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Reps. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) and Rob Matzie (D-Beaver/Allegheny) are the co-prime sponsors of House Bill 941, which now moves to the Senate for consideration.

Gaydos’ Drug Pricing Transparency Bill Unanimously Passes House

HARRISBURG – Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) thanked Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati and 26 other senators for passing House Bill 321, legislation that protects the lives of unborn children who have been diagnosed with Down syndrome. The House passed House Bill 321 in a bipartisan vote of 117-76 on May 14. Speaker Turzai called on Gov. Tom Wolf to please sign the bill.
