Barrar to Hold Committee Vote on Legislation Affecting First Responders and Veterans

WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), majority chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will lead the committee in a vote on legislation that would affect first responders as well as veterans and their descendants: 

House Bill 1683 would authorize municipalities to offer income and/or property tax credits for volunteer first responders. 
• Senate Bill 490 would require the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency director to be confirmed by the Senate.
House Resolution 527 would urge the Pennsylvania delegation to the 114th Congress of the United States to support the passage of the Toxic Exposure Research Act of 2015.
