WRIGHTSVILLE - State Reps. Stan Saylor (R-Red Lion) and Rep. Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam) met Thursday with members of the Wrightsville American Legion to demonstrate a new website geared toward veterans. The state-funded site, networkofcare.org, gives men and women who are serving or have served our country a central location for information about federal, state and local services.

“One of the biggest problems our veterans have involves accessing services available to them,” Saylor said. “While federal, state, and local governments provide a variety of services to veterans, our brave men and women who have fought for this country are often overwhelmed by the bureaucratic complexities of these programs. This simple-to-use, free website serves as a great tool for veterans returning from overseas and I encourage them, as well as all veteran organizations, to access it.”

Network of Care allows users to find out information on employment opportunities in their area, housing, medical services, addiction services, assistive devices and more. There is also an easy-to-use link for contacting state and federal representatives about any piece of legislation. In addition, users can create a protected profile where they can store items such as service health records, discharge papers and other service-related documents.

“The website is just one more way we can continue to give back to the incredible men and women who serve in our armed forces,” added Gillespie. “This one-stop shop will allow them to cut through ‘red tape’ and either find answers to their problems more quickly or call to their attention programs and services of which they may not have been aware.”

To access the website, please visit networkofcare.org, select “Pennsylvania” and choose a county of residence. Veterans can also contact their state legislator with any questions on how to use this website. More Information is available here.
