Aug. 21, 2018

WHAT: PA State Reps. Cris Dush (R-Jefferson/Indiana), along with other state lawmakers, former corrections personnel and family members will hold a state Capitol news conference to highlight the escalation of inmate violence, increased presence of illegal drugs and the lack of control in Pennsylvania state prisons.

In light of recent incidents in the past several weeks that resulted in 10 state corrections staff being hospitalized for exposure to unknown substances, and, most tragically, the first Commonwealth corrections officer killed in the line of duty in 39 years on Feb. 26, the purpose of this event is to raise awareness and call for immediate legislative action to protect the lives of our Commonwealth’s dedicated corrections personnel of all classifications as well as the people under their care, custody and control.

WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 22, beginning at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Main Capitol Rotunda, Harrisburg.

LIVE WEBCAST: Log on to RepDush.com, beginning at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
