HARRISBURG – A bill that would honor a fallen state trooper by naming a local bridge in his memory passed the state House today, said Rep. Jim Marshall (R-Beaver/Butler), who sponsored the legislation.
House Bill 834 would designate the bridge carrying State Route 588 over Interstate 376, Chippewa Township, Beaver County, as the TFC Blake T. Coble Memorial Bridge.
“Trooper Coble’s widow, Brenda, and I discussed a lasting tribute to recognize her husband, Blake, and we chose this bridge in Chippewa Townships because the Coble Family crosses it often when they travel to church each week,” Marshall said.
Coble, a member of the Pennsylvania State Police for more than 24 years, passed away in the line of duty at the age of 47 on Oct. 4, 2012. He had been assigned to Troop D, Beaver, since February 1992.
The legislation, House Bill 834, now heads to the state Senate for its consideration.
