HARRISBURG – Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) today issued the following statement after the House voted 114-84 to pass House Bill 218, the 2017-18 budget bill:
“Today’s vote signifies substantial progress on the 2017-18 state budget. This bill offers cost- savings across nearly all line items. We did not discriminate when it came to looking for potential savings. This budget invests a record amount of resources in education, provides funding for drug courts and continues to funnel funds toward fighting our state’s opioid crisis. I look forward to working on finalizing the details of this budget with members of both chambers and the administration to ensure we provide Pennsylvanians with an on-time, balanced budget.”
