WHAT: The House Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest), and House Appropriations Committee will travel to the Lehigh Valley to tour and hold a roundtable discussion at Ben Franklin TechVentures, a business-technology incubator owned and operated by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/NEP). BFTP/NEP invests in and supports early-stage, technology-based companies and established manufacturers to create and retain jobs, and advance technologies that improve the human condition. BFTP/NEP provides technical and business expertise, referrals and resources, and networking opportunities in addition to funding.

WHO: Oberlander; Appropriations Vice Chairman George Dunbar (R-Westmoreland); host and Deputy Policy Chairman Rep. Marcia Hahn (R-Northampton); and members of the Policy and Appropriations committees. Along with officials from Ben Franklin Technology Partners NEP, guests for the roundtable will be Nick Gilson, CEO, Gilson Snow, Winfield; Catherine Bailey, co-founder and senior advisor, Rea.deeming Beauty Inc., Bethlehem; and Sam Niedbala, president, CryoConcepts LP, Bethlehem.

WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania, 116 Research Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18015. The meeting will take place in Room 4430 of the building’s West Wing. Ample parking, at no charge, is located behind the building.
