WHAT: State government agencies have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to upgrade and build technology systems and databases in an attempt to make government run more efficiently and effectively. Yet, despite the money being spent, the data collected is not being used to its fullest potential, personnel costs are climbing, fraud and system abuse continues, and Pennsylvania is still years behind in its technology capabilities.

Chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) has invited several technology companies to testify before the Committee on how Pennsylvania should be using technology to find potential cost savings, and why they, and companies like them, could be part of the solution to the Commonwealth’s current budget shortfalls and the Legislature’s efforts to rethink and reinvent state government.

WHO: Benninghoff and Republican legislators from across the state.
Testifiers will include representatives from First Data, MedExpert and SAS Inc.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 22, from 9:30-11 a.m.

WHERE: Majority Caucus Room, Main Capitol Building, Harrisburg.

WATCH LIVE: Barring technical difficulties, the hearing will be live-streamed at pagoppolicy.com.
