WHAT: In recognition of PA 2-1-1 Day, Rep. Stephen Bloom (R-Cumberland) will join representatives from the United Way of Pennsylvania to raise awareness of the 2-1-1 system, a free, confidential, 24-hour information and referral service that connects Pennsylvanians in need with health and human service assistance available through government programs, private and nonprofit organizations in their communities.

The lawmaker will also urge support for a public-private partnership between state government, 2-1-1 and United Way to help expand the service, develop mobile applications and ensure efficiency and quality standards across the state.

WHO: Bloom, United Way of Pennsylvania Board Chairman Robert Woods, United Way of Pennsylvania President Kristen Rotz, PA 2-1-1 Chairwoman Nancy Kukovich and individuals who have used the PA 2-1-1 service.
