HARRISBURG – The Trump administration issued new rules to make it easier for consumer to enroll in short-term insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act. In response, Rep. Seth Grove (R-York) issued the following statement:

“Obamacare was a flawed government program from the start and drove up health care costs for consumers. Fixing this mess, which was created nearly 10 years ago, is no easy task. I commend President Trump for his efforts to tackle this issue and to come up with a plan to make health care truly more affordable for consumers.

“There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to health coverage. This rule change gives consumers, who know what’s best for them and their families, more freedom over their own health care through more options.

“Short-term, limited-duration insurance is not for everyone, but it will help many who are struggling to find good coverage at an affordable rate. Specifically, people transitioning between coverage options, such as a student who is taking time off school, members of the middleclass who don’t qualify for health care subsidizes or some one between jobs, will be able to afford health care through short-term coverage options.”
