HARRISBURG – Following Gov. Tom Wolf’s 2017 budget address, which was presented today during a joint session of the House and Senate, Rep. Alex Charlton (R-Springfield) issued this statement:
“I'm cautiously optimistic to hear Gov. Wolf is not proposing any broad-based taxes and has proposed a state budget that realizes $2 billion in cost reductions. I look forward to diving deeper into his proposal and hearing the results of the Appropriations Committee hearings.”
The Appropriations hearings, which are the next stage in the budget process, are slated to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
