HARRISBURG — Rep. Zach Mako (R-Lehigh/Northampton) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s $32.34 billion budget proposal:

“While there are portions of the governor’s budget address I support, such as no broad-based tax increases, the devil will be in the details. The upcoming budget hearings should flesh out additional information.

“My focus remains on my priorities of property tax reform, job creation and infrastructure improvements. Any final budget must rein in government spending, not burden the taxpayers and signal Pennsylvania is open for business. Now is the time to restart Pennsylvania. We need to grow the Commonwealth’s economy.”

The 183rd District includes South Whitehall (part), Washington and Whitehall (part) townships and Slatington Borough in Lehigh County. It also consists of Allen, Lehigh and Moore (part) townships, and North Catasauqua, Northampton and Walnutport boroughs in Northampton County.
