HARRISBURG – State Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) will chair the Government and Financial Oversight Subcommittee and was assigned today to serve on four committees and for the 2017-18 legislative session: Appropriations, Education, Insurance, and Labor and Industry.
“I have long been a vocal proponent of greater fiscal oversight in state government and firmly believe the subcommittee can provide greater oversight over state government and its finances,” Grove said. “I am glad new House Appropriations Committee Chairman, Stan Saylor (R-Windsor Township) recommended the creation of the subcommittee and am humbled that he selected me to chair it. I look forward to the tasks and challenges at hand.”
Grove will continue to serve on the Appropriations Committee, which oversee the state’s fiscal policies, as well as the Labor and Industry and Education committees. In addition, he will also serve on the Insurance Committee.
“I will serve on most of the same committees as last session – Appropriations; Education; and Labor & Industry – and am well versed in the issues areas they encompass. I look forward to continuing my work on these committees. As a member of the Insurance Committee, I look forward to developing policies on how the Commonwealth will deal with insurance issues post ObamaCare” Grove said. “My main priorities in the other committees include charter school reform, facilitate the passage of the Select Subcommittee on Career Readiness and Technical Education report recommendations and preemption of local government mandates on private businesses.”
