HARRISBURG – State Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) this week announced she has been assigned to the Education, Gaming Oversight, Health and State Government committees for the 2017-18 session.

“The significant deficit we are facing as a state has made the 2017-18 session a challenging one,” said Phillips-Hill. “I’m looking forward to getting to work on these committees and enacting fiscally responsible legislation that benefits, not burdens, the taxpayer.”

Phillips-Hill will also again serve as a deputy whip under Majority Whip Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster), as well as a member of the Speaker’s Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee.

“One of the keys to getting things done in the General Assembly is building relationships with my fellow members and my duties as deputy whip are a big help in accomplishing that,” she added. “My role on the Speaker’s Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee began last session after Speaker Mike Turzai took action on legislation that lay dormant since being enacted in 2007. The committee’s goal is developing, recommending and implementing equal opportunity employment and procurement policies in the House of Representatives, and I’m proud to again be selected to be part of that effort.”

Phillips-Hill is also a member of a number of the Legislature’s bipartisan, issue-specific caucuses, including serving as chairman of the Cystic Fibrosis and YMCA caucuses.

Questions about Phillips-Hill’s legislative duties or any state government issued should be directed to her district office at (717) 428-9889 or 1-877-207-2272.
