HARRISBURG – Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) released the following statement applauding President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United State Supreme Court:
“We applaud President Trump’s selection of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be the next justice on the United States Supreme Court. My colleagues and I urge Pennsylvania’s two United States senators to vote in favor of this outstanding jurist and fine family man. Judge Kavanaugh is an individual who embodies strong moral character, keen intellect and true civility. He strikes us as both gracious and wise. Most importantly, he sees his role as one who interprets but does not create the law and has paid appropriate deference to the text of the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights and additional amendments, as well as statutes drafted by legislators.”
