HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) has been appointed a member of the House Children and Youth Committee for the remainder of the 2019-20 Legislative Session. Struzzi’s appointment was made to fill one of two vacancies left due to member resignations.

“The well-being of Pennsylvania’s children is an extremely personal issue for me. As a father of four, I understand firsthand how important it is to ensure that our children are well-looked after and provided the best conditions in which to grow and succeed,” said Struzzi. “I am grateful for this appointment and I’m excited to begin working with the committee to benefit Pennsylvania’s youth.”

Struzzi currently holds memberships on the House Appropriations, Human Services, Insurance and Urban Affairs Committees, all of which he will keep for the remainder of the 2019-20 Legislative Session.

“I am pleased to welcome Rep. Struzzi to the House Children and Youth Committee,” said Boback, (R-Luzerne/Lackawanna/Wyoming), chair of the House Children and Youth Committee. “Jim has shown his dedication to improving the lives of children all across the Commonwealth. Jim will be a great asset to my team.”

The House Children and Youth Committee deals with legislation related to children’s health, living conditions, guardianship and general well-being. So far this session, the committee has passed 16 pieces of legislation, seven of which have been signed into law.
