HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today issued a statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s 2020-21 budget address.

“We all have to live within our means,” Gaydos said. “Unfortunately, what we heard from Gov. Wolf today was more spending, more taxes and ultimately, more debt. The citizens of Pennsylvania work hard. To saddle future generations with debt from this governor’s overspending is unacceptable.”

“My colleagues and I have taken action to protect taxpayers, invest in the state’s Rainy Day Fund and push back on burdensome tax increases. Meanwhile, Gov. Wolf’s $36 billion proposal is over $2 billion more than the current year’s budget. It is imperative that we come together to craft a budget that is responsible to our taxpayers. That means saving for the future and investing in education and workforce development while keeping spending under control.”
