HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget proposal:
“The governor’s budget address came with a lot of attention-grabbing buzz words, which all sounded good. However, I am concerned with where he plans to come up with the money necessary to do everything he talked about,” said Helm. “The governor outlined a budget that would spend over $2 billion more than the 2019-20 budget. This is unacceptable.”
“Last year we came together to craft a budget that kept spending under control, made strong investments in workforce development and education and most importantly transferred money to our Rainy Day Fund, which is essentially the state savings account,” Helm continued. “We need to do the same thing this year and come together to craft a budget that is more responsible to our taxpayers while still funding the agencies and organizations that need it.”
